Our Mission

CheerNotes is a carefully curated greeting card marketplace designed to inspire connection and belonging through designs that reflect shared culture and experiences.

Inspired by the lack of diversity of imagery and message in the greeting card industry, founder Asha Banks sought to change the greeting card buying experience for people of color. As the first marketplace for diverse cards in the world, CheerNotes seeks to bring inclusivity to the market by focusing on the moments, people, and designers traditional greeting cards companies overlook.

Our Founder

"I made my first business cards in elementary school for my babysitting service. Grades later I began R&D for my own natural hair and skin care collection in response to the lack of options for Black consumers. My propensity to explore and address unmet needs I’ve noticed remains today."

"It’s hard to find cards for your family and friends when your life, moments and relationships don’t align with the mainstream narrative" - Asha Banks, Founder, CheerNotes

The Problem

The US has an increasingly diverse population yet only 3% of greeting cards attempt to represent Black culture and that only grows 7% if you add in people who identify as Hispanic, Latinx, South Asian, or LGBTQ+.

Solution

We make it easy to discover cards that fit diverse relationships and experiences by providing a diverse selection within one marketplace. We partner with diverse card companies and artists whose designs reflect their culture and/or experiences. Our exclusive partnerships  and in-house designs help us grow our selection as well.
